A Simple Message to the Members of
 Carpenters Local 370

In 2005, I was Nominated & Ran for Delegate to the Regional Council and recieved 75 votes for which I was extremeley sursprised, I want to give a personal thanks to the membership for their overwhelming Support and Participation, attending our union meetings plays a crucial part in a successful election. Before my Nomination in 2005, never in my career as a union carpenter have I ever considered running for an elected position, never the less thought that I could ever make a difference for change within the organization, and over the years, there is no-doubt, I truely regret it.

Today, I am and will continue to be committed to the needs and issues that face this membership, also keeping in mind that every carpenter, Union or Non-Union, regardless of their affiliation needs to be fully addressed. As you know, things have changed considerably in the last 10 years, and it couldn't have happened any faster. For all at the Rank & File level, the issues we face, everybody knows about, there is no need for me or anyone else to explain them. It's just a shame that less than 20% of the membership gets out and votes on a regular basis. In the last election, it was sad to see such a low morale and lack of participation in the nominations process. As you know we have had some major problems at the International level regarding our rights to a Fair and Democratic Election Process. For anybody who has doubt...

Hey, You Never Know !  someday that may change. But until then we also need to think about what is going on at the local level. Like I said the first time, everyone knows the issues that need to be addressed. The key is bringing them forward and doing something about it.
